BLOG: WADING BOOT GUIDE

Did you know that wading boot fit should NOT provide extra room and the boot should be tied in a unique way to acheive ultimate stability?

This blog will teach you everything you "should" know about wading boots to acheive ultimate performance & stability.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT SIZE

Choose your standard woman's US shoe size.

Only round up to the next size up if:

  1. You sometimes wear a half size.
  2. Your big toe is not your longest toe (strange, we know, but true).
  3. You wear an extra-wide boot and have had problems with wading boot widths.

Fit, Performance & Safety

Wading boots should fit tight with no to little extra room at the toe. It is okay if the toe touches the tip of boot, so long as it is not bent. If there is pressure at the toe, read our blog to learn how to tie the boot so that the heel is pulled back and secure in the heel cradle, which will relieve the toe pressure.

Obtaining stability requires a boot that does not allow your foot to slide around inside. Boots will expand in the water and break-in quickly. If you buy the boot to fit "comfortably" when new and dry, it will soon become too big causing a floppy-footed fit and reduce your foot control in the water. Trust that a tight boot, will be perfect once you wear it in the water.

FULL COMFORT ARCH SUPPORT

Every Miss Mayfly Wading Boot comes with a high density comfort insole. The Insole helps prevent cramping of the foot in cold waters, while improving balance and stability. Mold & Mildew resistant. Removable.
